It was a lot of fun! Great to be back at it, as much as I can be right now! Super easy to get to and very well organized event. Hardest part was walking barefoot along the beach to the start and my one transition.
Swim- Aquabike went in wave 1 and it was a small wave, lots of open water! Difficult sighting with the sun but the course followed the shore so it wasn’t bad. First time in open water since Pilgrimman last September! Swam harder than I have been and felt my ankle a little bit, but felt comfortable out there.
T1- Ouch my feet are more sensitive and as tempting as it was to hustle I kept walking!
Bike- I thought I’d get passed by a lot more people but I didn’t mind, and the roads were a lot less crowded than I imagined. Passed a few folks too, mostly those on mountain bikes too. Average speed of 15.5 mph which is great for the bike I used and for the amount of riding I’ve done.
T2/“Run”- So there’s no real finish line for Aquabike. My timing stopped at the dismount. I decided to venture out onto the run course walking. My hip and ankle told me I’d had enough for the day, and I felt like I was in the way because the run lane was narrow and had 2 way traffic. I decided to turn off onto the beach and called it a day!
Not too shabby for 30 days of weight bearing!

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
