Only Chris K and John O follow me out of Uxbridge. I suspect that the usual suspects were either too tired from their recent exertions or the allure of a garden centre lunch was insufficient incentive to get out of bed for. Heading south we are joined by John H at Cowley. Onward through Iver, and Mansion Lane, we are soon at Datchet Water Sailing Club, our coffee stop. Upstairs we have a splendid view of the reservoir and not a dog in sight. Along with the usual sailing craft are model dinghies and someone mentions "toy" boats. I quickly look around to see if we are about to be reprimanded, but it seems we have got away with it this time. At Horton John H heads back while the rest of us make for Datchet. A huge queue of traffic leading up to the level crossing reminds me why two wheels is often better than four. At Windsor John O returns home, leaving the dynamic duo to continue our journey. Chris obligingly agrees to be back marker! Through Windsor Great Park we exit near Cheapside, then it's A and B roads to our lunch stop at Oak Tree Hill Garden Centre, Brockhill. Excellent service. We have a strong following breeze to help us back, via Fifield, Dorney, Burnham, Farnham Royal, Stoke Poges and onto Framewood Road. It's out with the waterproofs now as we head through Fulmer and Red Hill to Denham Church. The place is pretty packed. Has someone spiked the cakes? Alan P, partner and dog are there to make our visit worthwhile. There is merit in leading an ever diminishing group. the responsibilities are exceedingly low.
