This climb starts right at the turn-off for the Passo Gau. So, if you want to do the full climb from Cortina, it's best to do the legendary Passo Gau first, which starts down in Cortina, and then do this climb after. This climb starts steady for the first two kilometers and then flattens out for a while. The final 6 kilometers to the top of the Passo di Falzarego are a steady grind mostly through bright orange pine forests with nothing too steep. At the first summit, you will make a right turn onto the Passo Valparola, which is much steeper but is less than 2 kilometers long. The ride descends past the World War 1 bunker complex before turning to finish back at the Passo di Falzarego summit. This ride was filmed late in the day with some interesting skies and light effects.
