One more attempt before heading home and once again waaay too much hike-a-bike on trails not marked as blocked but that were most definitely impassible.
The intent was to wander down the trail corridor from downtown and try to stay on open trails. Well. That MOSTLY happened.
We found "Masterpiece" at Mile 2.2 and rode it once -- steel and rock jump track though there was no jumping for the old guys.
Then found a trail at 2.5 that we started down only to arrive at an intersection we'd seen two days ago that leads to nothing but downed trees.
Then found the "Urban" trail that is allegedly blue but seemed no worse than some stuf at home. And it was alllll good until 3.6 when we decided to go a little farther up the stream valley wall... and kept thinking after each downed tree (and it was never a single stem, oh no it was always multiples) that we had SURELY crossed, scrambled over, crawled on the ground under the last one. But no. So, exhausted, we gave up at 3.9 on this "open" trail and worked back to where we'd come from (this time skipping the sketchy stairs at 3.7, yes stairs) and trying to go another way.... and no, MORE TREES, which involved turning around at 4.2.
Finally, fed up, went down the famous Bush Push (you could look it up but it involved W riding up a ridiculously steep slope because clearly he was spending more time working out than presidenting) annnnd Mark promptly crashed.
Soooo... not TOO worse for the wear, we continued on some for sure green trails, then came back to try a trail called "Gravel", which, yep, was gravel like the C&O tow path and clearly aimed at gravel bikers to get out of (or into the valley) and was great ... until the broken bridge hanging in the air after a tree at the end uprooted. More scrambling.
Got to the top, found ANOTHER trail that seemed good ... annnd we got a long way down it to discover ... YEP, TREES DOWN. ... By this time we were far enough into the mess where we just pressed through. Over and under and through.
FINALLY, because we could, we rode up the Ledger building -- modern office building with a bike ramp up the outside up six stories. Not exactly MTB but pretty cool...

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
