Bob was feeling under the weather and bailed. Because it was another really hot weekend, Sonny suggested going to the coast again where the temperatures were much cooler. Surprisingly though it was still pretty warm sometimes, especially when there was no wind. I'd say 20-25% of the ride was cool. Half the ride was warm but bearable. And coming back on Canada from Woodside to Pulgas Water Temple was like riding in an air fryer. It was unbearable. It already started off warm and by the time we got to the top of Kings, I was already feeling a little light headed. Descending Tunitas, it was actually a bit chilly until we got back out on the ridge on Lobitos. When we got to the top, we could see the marine layer and worried that maybe we needed layers for the coast. There wasn't a headwind heading up to Half Moon Bay. Sonny had suggested going to Dad's but they were closed this weekend due to a staffing shortage. So I took Sonny to Sacrilege Brewery + Kitchen since he'd never been before. Afterward, I took him to the Coastal Trail. I was surprised that he'd never done it before and that I'd never taken him down there before either. First time doing the rooty climb to the golf bridge before dropping down into the Ritz Carlton on a road bike and I managed to clear it. Would've liked to have ridden the entire Cowell-Purisima Coastal Trail but parts of it just wouldn't have been fun on a road bike. More traffic than usual on Tunitas and Kings. I'm assuming because 92 was pretty busy with everyone trying to head to the coast.
