Wasn’t feeling great and didn’t want to have to do the whole climb back up again so I just escorted Irene and Ali down a little bit. When I turned around to climb back up, it felt as bad as it did yesterday. A big thank you to everyone who went down and carried extra water back up my least favorite climb while I greeted visitors at the lookout tower. You're my heroes! We spent the rest of the afternoon making content (Tik Tok dance) and drawing and painting. Anthony was challenged to draw all of us as animals and we had to guess the person that belonged to the animal. I was challenged to draw the Pringles character as a bikepacker. I challenged Ali to draw each of us as food. Emily was doing some plein air water colors and marker portrait, and Irene was doing portrait as well. Thankfully it was overcast (actually there were lightning storms off in the distance) so the cloud cover and the wind helped to keep the lookout cooler. Got my first ever photo of a lightning strike! While everyone was getting water, I was killing all the bugs that came in, which turned out to be very important as everyone slept inside this evening vs. half sleeping outside the night before. The first night, we were harassed by bugs but tonight, it was quiet. Maybe that helped me to basically sleep through the night despite going to bed at ~9p. I never go to bed that early unless I'm sick.
