Training objective: tempo ride for 90 minutes with the cadence between 75-85 rpm's and the heart rate at 140-150 bpm's. Then if the legs feel good, make the last 20 minutes as hard as possible.
Headed out after the rain stopped, taking my brand new Ass Saver with me. Pretty windy, though, and after about 30 minutes, I noticed no more Ass Saver. Bummer (so to speak)! Double-bummer because the roads were all pretty dry anyway. Grrrrr! Nearly lost my glasses due to the wind a couple of times, too... MyWindsock shows the wind was about 36 km/hr and against about 56% of the time, which felt about right - plus lots of crosswind.
Well the coach probably won't like this one, as I didn't really stick to the plan - the legs were feeling too good!
Did about a 15 minute warm-up, then proceeded to plan, but was having too much fun, so started bombing away, getting the heart rate at 155 and more. Then I decided to try for some PR's. So, the first 40 minutes were harder than target. Then went back to plan for the next 30 minutes or so, followed by giving it some gas around Ronde Hoep for the last 20 minutes.
The legs felt good the whole way, Morne.
Took it easy riding back to the fietsenstalling for the last 25 minutes as a bit of a cool-down.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
