Training objective: keep the heart rate at 145-150 bpm's, but give a very hard effort for the last hour, with the heart rate at 155 bpm's and the cadence at 65-75 rpm's.
Somehow bent my derailleur hanger outwards (maybe while trying to clip in...). Bent it back more or less in place by hand (I had a spare but didn't use it), but I lost the use of a bunch of gears when on the big ring in the front. The bike shop loves me and my problems!
A bit of a challenge to keep the heart rate up in DTC Tour ride, so had to double-back a few times and then sprint(ish) to catch up (which got put the heart rate above the 150 target), but all in all not bad. Gave it a more gas at a lower cadence for the last hour or so of the 145 km's.
A bit chilly today, but the sun came out as we entered Amsterdam. Windy pretty well the whole way back, as well as on much of the Tour.
When I started the pace, the guy I rode with asked if I really thought I could hold it the whole way (he really didn't think I could). I had a few "Jesus Christ, Richard!" exclamations from him trying to stick to my wheel, right up until the very end of the 145 km's. Well, I guess now he knows, right? :)
I was feeling pretty fresh at the end and probably could have kept it up for the subsequent ride back to Amsterdam, too, but that would have been too anti-social. :)

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
