Training objective: nice tempo ride for 1-2 hours on flats with the cadence at 75-85 rpm's
Started out a bit of a scorcher at 30 degrees, but cooled down a lot for the last 30 minutes... I decided to take out the old 26" GT Avalanche clunker while the other bike is in the shop. Didn't bother removing the speed or cadence sensors from the other bike, so did the cadence on feel
Kind of nice taking the old bike out - while it sure drags its heels when it comes to climbing even the slightest rise, and makes a few odd noises here and there, it's pretty fun on the flat stretches. I even set a few new PR's, got a "Top 9" trophy as well as a KOM. Maybe I didn't need a new bike! (better not tell the missus!!!).
I didn't set it up to the Shimano Dynamics Bike Fitting specs, but it felt pretty comfy for a hardtail (except for the horrible corrugation - yuck!). Kind of reminded me of my road bike.
Hopefully I'll get the new bike back from the guys at Ride Life tomorrow, then I'm taking it back in to Coimbra on Friday for an upgrade of the wheelset (from the stock Giants to a pair of American Classic Wide Lightning 29'').
