Training objective: another easy weekend tempo ride (cadence between 75-80 rpm's and heart rate at 140-145 bpm's) of whatever duration I want and no pressure to go fast.
Bart invited me along to go to Oudewater (and back with his wife who was riding up from Breda), so I didn't fully follow my training programme, but it was a pretty good tempo ride - I worked hard against the wind a few times, but really, it was a pretty easy ride. And absolutely glorious weather.
I may go to one of the bike clinics here and do an FTP test in the next couple of weeks. Apparently they often do a 20 minute session on a TACX for just EUR 15 (instead of 60 minutes and the full fitness test for EUR 195), which gives a pretty good approximation. I should probably be well-rested beforehand, so I'll give you a heads-up in advance so we can build it into my schedule, Morne. Experienced guys I cycle with, like Bart, keep saying, "wow, you are strong" or "you have a lot of power". I keep telling them it is because of my training programme with you. Bart said he couldn't even keep on my wheel when we were heading into the wind (where I was doing 37-40 km/hr) today....

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
