The final part of the infamous stage 18 of the 2020 Giro d'Italia, filmed just an hour or two ahead of the race. This ride is following on from the end of the ‘Giro, Passo Stelvio, Prato’ in our app. This time we dodge the various cyclists and fanatical spectators known as the Tifosi on the final climb. The ride starts though with the remainder of the refrigerated Passo Stelvio descent towards Bormio. Then you have some valley to warm up a bit for the final climb which comes into view at about 22km into the ride. The main climb to Laghi di Cancano is quite erratic with scattered short steep sections and places to catch your breath. Once through the short tunnel at the top, the final stretch to the finish line is easy. The descent of the Stelvio at the start was also filmed the other way in fantastic sunny weather conditions just days before. Look out for this Stelvio from Bormio stage where at some point it is stunning with the fresh snow. For those looking for a different take on this climb: there is also an older version of the Stelvio available that was filmed in 2014 during the summer.
