Seven Loiterers followed me out of Uxbridge, via Ducks Hill, Jackets Lane and the Buddleia Walk, to the Croxley Cafe for coffee. Geoff departed for home, leaving John R, Lisa, Tim, Sally, John Mac and Robert as we set off for the shade of Whippendell Woods. We passed through Sarratt and Belsize, and traversed the delightful Ollieberrie Lane to get to Chesham for lunch. It hadn't taken long to democratically decide to go to the Queen's Head, rather than the previously advertised Red Lion, and the decision proved sound with prompt service and good food. John's Thai Red Curry proved particularly popular, even thought it wasn't really red at all. More hills ensued, and the group battled valiantly up them with no word of complaint. Er, well, that's not strictly true. However, any complaints were studiously ignored by the leader while he remarked on the outstanding views. Teas, coffees and ginger beers were taken at "The Deli" in Chalfont St Giles while fending off questions from a party of Italian schoolchildren. The final run for home was via Denham. Alan
