Windy day, grey and cold. The promised deluge didn't happen just a few spots of rain on a few occasions. Same ride as the one last Monday (besides a little change on the home approach) and felt even better in comparison despite the weather.
The Montane worked well over two layers plus arm and knee warmers.
Stopped at The Lion Hotel in Farningham for a pack of crisps, a glass of coke and two squished bananas. Washed banana juice off my fingers in the River Darent and read a placque saying Charles Dickens probably fished brown trout on the spot. Isd there anywhere in London and environs that doesn't have a Dicken's connection?
After leaving the pub forgot to set my timer going for a couple or so kms on the climb out of Farningham.
Kept turning into a headwind from this point in the ride. One junction on the home run, waiting at lihghts, the bike blew from under me like a shirt on a washing line. Despite this, felt fresh by the end.
