Today's the last single till Saturday's GranFondo. It was a good average ride. The legs were a bit heavy to start. My left lower back showed hints of pain. The same as the past few rides. It didn't escalate and got better as the ride went on. I got up early and was able to depart without the usual morning nap. Today was mostly equipment testing and stretching the legs. I forgot to bring my smartphone, as I took it out of my pocket just before the ride started. I forgot my water bottles and didn't want the phone to loose connection with my GPS. When I got out, I had the strangest feeling that I was forgetting something. When I got back, the phone was right where I left it. Suffice it to say, the parents were able to acquire a signal whilst using Glympse. As far as the ride goes, nothing worth noting on Highline. The wind was heading East. I took the Backes Ln road to get back. That's the road I will take during the GranFondo. More of a reconnaissance. Nothing to note, other than to follow the street as it turns east and then north. As usual, a headwind going north. Wind conditions did not prove to be dangerous. Likely favor the left side of the bike lane, if not the car lane, as I saw debris on the road. Concentration was good. I felt much more awake since the last 50 miler. Balance and form felt good, not great. Ailments, the left lower back. Gear is working well. However, there's still a knocking noise as I'm grinding out of the saddle. I tightened the shifter bolts. Will have to confirm on the next ride. Other notes, I saw a few riders today.
