After two week rest, relaxation and rehab of my strained Achille's tendon, took a little recovery ride and tested some new gear. The ankle is fine, and I was pleased with my performance on the ride. I kept a nice high cadence and rode faster than anticipated. I put a new daylight-visible blinky on the bike, wore a rearview mirror and tested my phone using the Endomondo app, an ANT+ dongle and a whopping big battery pack. The blinky blinks; what more can be said? The mirror is going to take getting used to, but I'm not initially impressed at its real utility. The app did sync with my HRM and bike sensor, and the ride used 10% of the big battery with everything turned on: WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and ANT+. Didn't really notice the bulkier phone in the blue Sugoi jersey pocket. Also wore the old PI Attack shorts, maybe for the last time. This pair is getting ratty and I just ordered an identical pair from Performance on sale.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
