JOYventure: Arlington to Revere Beach with Winthrop Ferry back

Epic Sunday adventure with John! Gorgeous sunny day for 30 miles of biking & 13 miles on the 3:15pm Winthrop/Quincy/Boston ferry. Stopped to visit John's grandparents' old house at 16 Tuttle St in Revere. Ate our lunch snacks at a Revere Beach pavillion. Cut out the Deer Island section & relaxed at the ferry while watching airplanes take off for an hour instead. Some fog rolled in, and visibility dropped to zero! The ferry ride was awesome – it stopped at Marina Bay in Quincy & the Boston Seaport before arriving at Central Wharf (our stop) next to the aquarium. Biked back across the locks, over North Bank Bridge past North Point Park, up the Somerville Path & the Minuteman bikeway home. Stopped for ice cream at JP Licks in Davis Square. 🍦

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
