It's no secret I love climbing. I love it so much you will probably never see me at the start of a race with no climbing or mountains involved.
During winter last year I was looking for something to challenge me as the pure climbing endurance challenge.
Triple Everesting just seems so out of this world, I wanted to give it a shot. And if I do it, I will do it proper. Going for the record!
I built a bike specifically for this ride, made a list of food and a whole plan with the Athletes Foodcoach, trained on my home mountain Gaisberg nearly every day to find out what was the optimal pace.
And it nearly worked out! The heat in the second afternoon broke me and I missed on correcting my nutrition strategy for electrolytes. It took nearly half a day to replenish them. I was struggling with sleepiness during the night therefore.
The rain and fog the second day didn't exactly speed up things but I'm glad I pushed through in a very good time. Watch this space though:
Someone will push it under 30h I'm sure of that!
Hats off also to Jakob Wagenhofer from Graz who claimed the previous record in June just before me and pushed me a bit further. ;)

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
