Route 66, Day 8

St. Clair, MO to Rolla, MO
More climbing and more heat. We took it easier than usual, plenty of shade stops for water and snacks. During one such stop, the owner of Bourbon Cyclery introduced himself. He was out putting up race markers for a gravel race they are putting on this weekend. We rode through Cuba, where we had lunch at Shelly's Route 66 Cafe and filled our insulated bottles with ice. We started seeing armadillos yesterday and today, all smooshed by cars, the carnage especially graphic and painful looking I think because of their armor. As for Route 66 kitsch, today we saw Hot and Cold water towers, the worlds biggest rocking chair, and a quarter-scale Stone Henge.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
