Actual ride route bringing the Strada home on Sunday, Aug 24, 2014. RWGPS app seems to have lost half the ride so I have recreated it manually. Roughly 12 hours but with several long breaks toward the second half. Visited with a family in Petersburg on Wood Street where I stopped for a rest break under their shade tree and we ended up visiting and discussing the Strada for a while. Missed a turn jogging over to Platt before Milan and ended up riding a loooong way on the Petersburg (dirt) road and finally switched over at Redman. Took another extended break at the Milan School parking lot in the shade since the dirt road slowed me down and got me a bit hotter than I had been. Right calf cramped up real bad unclipping.. Laurie left to take Chris to his golf game. Took another long break at the Washtenaw United Way building on Platt Rd in Ann Arbor just north of S. Huron Parkway. Laurie rejoined me here and help with refueling. Took a restroom break in the park building after crossing over the Huron River on the bridge to Gallop Park Rd. Met with Laurie for another extended break at the Starbucks in the Plymouth Mall off Plymouth Rd in between Nixon Rd and Huron Parkway. Laurie was getting tired so I told her to go on ahead home at Ponitac Trail and N. Dixboro. We stopped for another break in the parking lot at Ron's Roadside BBQ. Need to go eat there sometime. Smelled really good. Met the owner's wife (forget her name). She came over to ask questions about the velomobile. At the light at 8 Mile and Pontiac Trail a couple (Myron and Joanne?) in a baby blue 1957 Chevy asked me to stop by the DQ up the street and treated me to an ice cream. Some of the local "car guys" checked out the Sttrada. This was another long break. Stopped for another rest and refuel break at the entrance station to Island Lake State Park at State Park Rd and Kent Lake Beach Rd. Ended up chatting with a former Marine until near dark that wants to buy a velo so this was another long break. Then finally got home.
