Route 66, Day 20: Gravel to Groom

Shamrock, TX to Groom, TX
The winds subsided today, making for a mostly enjoyable day. As we gain elevation the visibility seems to be improving and the vistas are spectacular. We had to ride along the highway for a little while today and I got flat number 4 of the trip from a legit goathead thorn. After fixing that, Megan found us some gravel roads to give us a break from the car traffic. We were riding out on the plain on an dirt road, extending due west out to the horizon, passing lazy wind turbines towering over us. A highlight of the day. There were never any steep hills but we were climbing most of the day and with our heavy rigs that took a toll.

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail).
