This was the Cascading Rivers Scenic Bikeway ride. Started from Hole-in-the-Wall, MP 41 on HIghway 224. The first 9 miles to Ripplebrook is a gradual climb, with one short, steep hill just past the Indian Henry bridge. Instead of going to Bagby Hot Springs, decided to continue on FS46 until reaching 25 miles. Ended up riding about a mile past the FS42 turn-off, which goes to Timothy Lake and eventually connects with Highway 26. The 12 miles past the Bagby turn is a continuous gradual climb, mostly at 1-2%, but some short sections of 4-6%. Ended up with 2085 feet climbing at the turn-around point. As usual, gusty headwind from the start to Ripplebrook. The wind went light and variable from Ripplebrook to the 25-mile mark. Great fall colors mixed in with the Riverside burn scar. A bit more traffic than expected, especially beyond Ripplebrook.
