Great fall day for a longer ride. Low clouds with temps in the low 50s to start, but became sunny fairly early into the ride. Start from Keizer Rapids Dog Park. The first 5 miles was trying to get out of Keizer. The real route took the bike paths to Keizer Station Rd, but had some trouble finding the bike path connections. Ended up wandering around Chemawa Rd before eventually getting on Keizer Station Blvd and out past Volcano Stadium. The next 13 miles headed out to the Willamette Pie Company and rest stop #1. Then it was through Pratum, the southern-most part of the route, to Bethany, outside Silverton and to John F Kennedy school in Mt. Angel for rest stop #2. Light headwind on most of this 15-mile stretch. From there, the route headed east on Marqum Rd then north on Meridian Rd to Monitor. The stretch on Monitor-McKee Rd had been repaved, which made for a nice spin to Howell Prairie Rd. This was where a route deviation took place. The Rambler Rd bridge was still out of service, so had to stay on Howell Prairie Rd to Labish Center Rd. The final 12 miles back to the dog park was a repeat of the first 12 miles. Ran into a little more trouble on the bike paths. Missed a turn to catch the bike path under the Chemawa Rd overpass to continue on Keizer Rd. Ended up adding about 2 miles to the original route.
