I was fairly slow in riding this. My level of fitness is lower than in times past, and I generally took it easy on any climbing at over 5% grade, and was not pushing the pace later in the afternoon and at night after it began raining, which was mostly the case over the last 70 miles. (Also, I had ridden up to the Baldy ski lift the day before, so that might also have contributed to my lack of speed on this one, lol.) Also slowing me down, I stopped to take pictures from time to time up until I was departing the Pine Mountain Summit area.
I rode solo all day, which was a natural result of starting about 53 minutes behind everyone else. I didn't catch Terri until the control in Lake of the Woods (mile 84.3, 8 hrs into my ride) where she gave me half of her sandwich, allowing me to leave before her! (Haha)
I kept hot weather clothing on until I put on my rain jacket out after 3 Points, when the rain increased from a light drizzle, and when I was almost finished with the last significant climb on Lake Hughes Rd I stopped and added in an underlayer, long fingered gloves, and my visibility vest, all of which kept me plenty warm, and was even too warm at times, but unzipping the vest and rain jacket took care of that.
I felt strong and rode hard after leaving Gorman until I started slogging up that first long hill after turning at 3 Points. I had some GI distress which forced m,e to stop in Gorman, and I was feeling "perky" afterwards! ;-)

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
