Not gonna pass up one more chance to ride for for 2025, when the temperature is in the mid-50s. Yes, yes, the forecast is for a LOT of wind later and temps falling into the 30s by dark but right now it's just breezy and not too cold. Buuut, playing it safe, it seemed like a better idea to stay out of the woods, mostly, especially when the wind picks up. So did some exploring of paved (and a few unpaved) surburban trails, as always looking for a way to get from one place to another without having to mix it up with traffic. And the strong West wind wasn't really a factor til around mile 9, once out of all the stream valleys. And by that point the route was mostly easterly. The shenanigans between 7 and 7.5 were at first a wrong turn and then an effort to follow routes from a heat map, which generally involves some educated (or maybe less-educated) guesses. Would very much like to make that section from 7.7 to 7.8 an actual trail, to avoid the traffic on Montgomery Village Ave to the west, which has the only other bridge across Cabin Branch. So glad to be out and not on the Bike That Doesn't Move ... buuuut given the forecast, that's probably it for awhile ...
