Mt. Baker 2011

This is a ride on Road 542 to Heather Meadows Mt Baker starting from Glacier, WA. This is a ride that happens every year at this time. Road 542 goes to Mt. Baker to Artist Point where there is a world renowned view of Mt. Shuksan. But this year, as in last, the snow fall was too much and they had closed the road beyond Heather Meadows. I just arrived yesterday from a riding vacation in the Aplps in France! I felt good despite the jet lag. I did very well compared to last year (my first for this ride). I made it up in 2 hours and 2 minutes, it took almost 2.5 hours last year.= when it was raining very hard. However, today we had beautiful weather and it was glorious to be on another mountain ride in the US after all of the alpine riding I did in France.
