Tired of riding the same ol' roads in upper Montgomery County, so rousted myself outta bed at 5:30am and eventually got to Taneytown to ride north into that lovely farmland between Gettysburg and Hanover. This was to avoid the forecast and actual upper 90s later in the day. Absolutely the right call. Temp at start was the high 70s and it didn't really get unpleasant til the last 10 miles or so, which, if you notice, trended downhill (Yay!) but also into the SSW wind (Boo). Legs took longer than usual to loosen up; probably a result of certain weeding activities the day before; contact points were unfazed by the mileage. Made two stops, 16.2 at a picnic grove and 28.6 at Royal Farms. Well chosen, both were needed. Mayyyybe could have done it with one stop, but why...
