Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Bad choices leads to a fall during this ride at the point where the cadence spikes at 228. I was riding down a short 10% grade that terminates at a major intersection of SR 30 at a traffic signal. I was forced to stop with the signal change and in a high gear. Sitting at the light I managed to lower the gear by 2 positions. Starting out it demanded extreme pressure on my part. My right hand slipped off the hand grip causing my left hand to swing the tire quickly to the left. I recovered from that with a quick shift of body weight to the right and grabbing the right grip with my loose hand. With the return shift to the left and the inability to straighten my right arm quick enough, I ended falling on the left side with my rib and thigh hitting the asphalt. I did not really feel the impact on my left side but did notice a burning on my right leg shin. My front light fell off and the traffic seemed to wait for my recovery from the fall. I quickly picked up my bike/bike light then remounted and proceeded to peddle home. This whole fall could have been avoided by either dismounting at the light and placing the chain rings in the proper position or just riding into the gas station on the right to get it in the proper gear then reenter in the traffic flow when safe to do so. Second a chain guard would have minimized the injury to my right shin. I did order 2 chain guards this morning for the Buzz and Green Machine. The soreness on my left side will pass as well as the slight injury to my right shoulder from the jolt. Live and learn!
