Had great energy and ate and drank well till around mile 60-65, when I started rationing my water. Brought 3L of water which I figured would be a bit on the short side and I was correct. I figured i'd just tone it down the last 10-15 miles and no problem. However I screwed up and missed my turn and started heading back up the first part of the loop. I didn't really think anything of it until I was almost to the little town of Standing Rock. So I just made a little loop out of it with the side road there and boy was i dehydrated by the time I got back.
It wasn't super hot and it was pretty low humidity which made it a pleasant day to ride. Sunny and a persistent east and southeast wind today.
Other than my boo boo at the end which added pavement, the route itself is perhaps 15% maximum pavement, and much of that is really really badly surfaced, so almost no traffic. I was only passed by 11 cars on this whole route. To be honest I made up this route in about 30 minutes to shorten a longer one I had already mapped out and it could have been optimized for more gravel with more time.
And this was only the north part of this county.
