On Saturday, 20150131, a group of friends/teammates braved the elements and got an early season outdoor road ride in. Jennifer, Abdean, Ben, Nick and I commenced our journey from the downtown Rosauers parking lot and made our way out over the West Plains through Cheney, Medical Lake and back again. It was a bit chilly at first however, once we got to pedaling we warmed up and were able enjoy each others company and the winter farmland scenery. We encountered a bit of snow on the Fish Lake trail but had mostly wet, and a little muddy roadway for the remainder of the trip. The group did an outstanding job of riding keeping our pace brisk with only one stop midway at the Starbucks in Cheney. It was a welcome time of warming up, having coffee and taking in some good cookies which really "hit the spot"! Although we didn't stay long, getting back out in the cold was, (and always is), a little bit of a challenge but once again, after some brisk pedaling and a couple climbs we were back at it! What a great group of people to spend time with and I very much look forward to the next trip. Also, it's quite a blessing to have an outdoor ride at this time of year. We'll take all of those we can get.
