Weather f/cast: 25+ mph gust of wind + rain. Cold.
I thought this was a 30 mile bike ride & took the Norco. Upon starting the ride is when I realized it was a 60 mile bike ride. And I had nothing for b/fast except 1 slice of bread with chicken salad inside it PLUS a banana. This negligence cost me BIG TIME on the return.
The overall ride: OK.
The first 30 miles were HARD. Being on the Norco & sitting upright & catching the headwind drained me. We did get into Brooks & the 'rest stop' a few miles away where I purchased a taquito or whatever & gulped it down. I was HUNGRY. But this was not going to be sufficient as I learnt later.
The return trip with a tail wind worked well. But I was losing energy & there were really no stops on this ride per se. Plus my NV bar was tucked in the back pocket & I could not reach it since the jersey was covering it. Frustrating to say the least.
I started to cramp around the 44 mile marker & requested a stop so I can get some NV inside me. That helped. I could not get to my clif bloks because they were back there as well.
AW, got the ride done. I should have paid better attention to the route & taken an Advil at least.
Now I'm not sure if I can do RTB. Or CO

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
