as the penultimate day began, the sun was out the skies were blue, and the wind was calm, making our ride to Darrington quite enjoyable and luckily uneventful. After a quick lunch, we hit a dirt trail called the white horse trail, which was about 20 miles and length and took us right through the OSO flood memorial. This devastating landslide in 2014 took 47 lives and was the deadliest in US history. After meeting three men blocking the trail who we I immediately labeled the “none shall pass guys” who said they had stopped and walked through the site we decided to do the same. It was, as they shared, quite moving to read some of the stories both of tragedy and survival. There are a few photos inclded here.
