OMG what a delightful and gorgeous ride! And pretty much perfect weather the day after a huge Nor'easter left: 60s and cloudy. The hills were more rolling and pleasant, with some lovely downhills. Our rest stop was at an outdoor cafe with lovely flower boxes all around it, next to a park with porta-potties. I managed to resist the soft-serve ice cream and scones.... From Tom: "We started at Heart Pond in Chelmsford along side the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. Leaving the trail we rode a variety of Westford roads with varying amounts of traffic until finding some nice quiet and wooded scenery. A rest stop featuring a refreshment stand lured us into an extended stop and provided our photo opportunity as well as some welcome calories. At the end of the ride we paused at the bench along the rail trail in honor of Eli Post, a long time Charles River Wheeler stalwart who died this past year. Eli was a friend and inspiration to many, including me."
