Dragooned two buds (Mark, Dan) to ride the big loop from Derwood. Been trying to do this for a coupla weeks. The trail south of MD 108 and west of Muncaster Road was new to us and quite nice. Then the stretch below Bowie Mill was even better -- clearly machine built specifically for bikes -- until we had to cross Rock Creek under the MD 200 overpass... Everybody got wet feet. Not sure how that's supposed to be, but not doing that again until the summer. After Muncaster Mill and the fire road along the creek there was waaay too much pavement back to Needwood. Had a near tumble going over a stupid log but did not fall off. Did come out with a bunch of bruises and cuts on ankle and lower leg from pedal and chain ring. Sigh. Always something. And 20 miles in dirt right now is a LOT. Pretty tired afterward.
