Rode the Trek 400 out of Gibbstown to the (pictured) Mt Zion AME Church (1834) on Garwin Road. This locale was known as Little Gloucester or Dutchtown, and was important on the Underground Railroad. Dennis Rizzo's book Parallel Communities claims "Small Gloucester is one of the stopping places of Harriet Tubman when she made use of this route." Also pictured is Hendrickson Mill Pond. It is said that some African Americans who came North found work at the mill that was here back in the day. I also went to see if Mike G's gate was unlocked, indicating he was there working his farm (no), and rode by Viereck's asparagus fields to see what's what, but nothing was happening there (yet?). It felt good to be on the bike after being hunkered down at home for days due to the COVID-19 guidance.
