We met at the Darby Creek trailhead in absolutely perfect weather. Canoes and kayaks were in full bloom. We decided to ride the new eastern section toward Galloway. Ralph and Frank had warned us that the road out of the park was up a killer hill. It was. David and I walked it and even Ralph shifted to the small ring. After the painful climb to exit the park, the eastbound trail rejoins the same RR right-of-way as the westbound trail. Unfortunately the new section doesn’t go very far and ends abruptly at an intersection that may have been Galloway. There doesn’t appear to be any development beyond that point. We turned back and rode west to London. The restaurant we usually ate at is gone now so we didn’t ride into town. We headed back to Darby Creek trailhead with a decent tailwind and a gentle downhill run. Nice! Thanks to Google, Kevin found an O’Charley’s on Georgesville road near I-270 and we had a most pleasant repast. Another fine GWNN ride.
