This was a very tough race for me. I learned I need to train on my race bike because it is not set up like my training bike. I made several mistakes for this race which added all together made for a very bad showing: 4.5 hrs sleep in 2 days; not training on the bike I will be racing with; poor training for past 2 weeks; getting to race late and no warm up; not hydrating for two days previous; and not checking the quality of my race drinks. I felt strong until my hamstrings in both legs started to cramp at 10-15 miles, then both lower inner & outer quads started cramp 15-20 miles. I tried to stay relaxed and not overly taxed my legs. I still felt strong but was limited to how hard I could pressure the pedals. The race was full of attacks, speed ups and then slow downs right from the start. I was there until the sprint my legs just locked up and gave up on me. I knew I couldn't stand but thought I may be able to stay seated and sprint. As soon as I started to power up my legs locked up, I had to soft pedal to the finish 32 out of 43 starters but more in the race as the women and 65+ were all i the race.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
