Day 11 of Nat'l Bike Month Ride

Cold this morning, but I wanted to get out before the rain hits today, so I braved the 28F temps. A small herd of cow elk scared me silly - probably as much as I scared them when I came around a blind corner. Thankfully they ran off in the opposite direction. I stopped to check out the "Owl Tree" on the way back. There is a large ponderosa pine with a big hole in it and 3 owlets are being raised. I keep seeing all the photogs and couldn't figure out what was going on with it until I finally saw some pictures posted on-line of the babies in the tree.
