The metrics reported here by RWGPS are way off. My original upload of this ride from my Garmin was corrupted, and so I uploaded to my laptop into Sportracks, and then copied that file back to RWGPS to create this version, which has the correct mileage. The following is the description from my original upload:
Rode with Pete, more or less. I added a little extra credit in the Mammoth area, riding up Old Mammoth Road and through the Twin Lakes loop before descending Lake Mary Rd back to rejoin the route. I caught Pete between Sagehen and Benton, and rode with him until we were about 10 miles from the end when I pushed on with Joe to try and finish within 12 hours, while Pete and Rick finished up at a relaxed pace.
The distance and elevation metrics on this are ALL out of whack, but the time metrics seem to be correct relative to the actual GPS points on the section of the map prior to Benton, or, at least for that part of the map with the majority of the climbing, including Mammoth Lakes. I uploaded a file from SportsTracks and it has the distances, but the "stopped" time is in error:
http://ridewithgps.com/trips/5385921
I had over 24 minutes of stopped time when I was taking pictures and looking around during my solo loop into the Old Mammoth and Twin Lakes area. On the other hand, I had minimal stopped time at the other stops, for sure, including the lunch stop (8:14 on this track). 4:00 min stopped in the Crowley Lake area; 6:17 at Crestview Roadside Rest area (off the 395); 5:42 at Sagehen; and 9:18 at Benton (trying to rally Pete, Joe and Rick to hurry after Kevin Walsh had already left). That's a total of 33:31 at rest stops; OK, but not great. Add in the 24:30+ that I was stopped on the extra credit loop, and there was a total of over 58 min of stopped time.
Notwithstanding, if I subtract out the time for the extra credit, which was 7.4 miles with 928' of climbing (57 min., including stopped time for pictures, etc.), and adding back time for the 1 mile and 220' I skipped (<6.4 min per 2013 ride; 6:13 in 2016), there is a net deduction of 50 min. 36 secs. Plus, add another 3 min. (2:18 in 2016)for a 0.6 mile loop inadvertently skipped after lunch around the Mono Lake Visitor Center, my "adjusted" total time, simulating my time if I had only ridden the official route, would have been 11:12:45. I think this is a pretty conservative estimate, and my time would have been at least this good or better, considering the extra climbing and miles I rode. That is at least 30 seconds faster than the second place rider (Dave Reynold), and 4.5 min faster than the 3rd place rider (Elmar Stefke). First place was way out of touch, at 10:22:15 (Gary Swanson).

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
