The Garmin was off for a few miles (4.4) when I reset the "course" by turning the Garmin off. Total, actual miles = 196.1
Total moving time = 11:21:33
Avg moving speed: 17.26 mph
I edited the metrics to show the correct total miles and time (and RWGPS computed the avg speed as being slightly slower).
I crashed 11 miles into the ride; Doug says my right crank gave way when stomping on it to power over a roller, and Pete told me TJ ran over my head or neck. I had a loss of consciousness, evidently for the better part of a minute before I started rolling over to sit up. I have no recollection of the crash, nor anything else until I was standing, telling TJ to cancel the ambulance, and suggesting that we get on with it. Pete evidently told TJ and Doug to go on. It took a while for the cobwebs to clear, so to speak, and we had not gone far (at mile 21.7) when I evidently hit a rock and cut my rear tire (we were rolling again at 7:30AM) . From the crash, my right shoulder was hurt, and also my ribs, and I was in no shape to change the tire, but Pete graciously jumped on it and helped me out. I was slow after that in climbing, and in the rest stops. Things just took longer... Still, we managed to catch TJ and Doug at the Rincon Point rest stop. People had been surprised to see me as of the Potrero rest stop when Steve Meichtry told me TJ was saying I had SAG'd back after crashing; those vicious rumors of the demise of my ride were greatly exaggerated! I still did a lot of pulling on the flats, but continued to be slow on rollers of any length. The boys finished one signal light ahead of me, about a minute. All in all, it was a good day. However, I was significantly crabby and tried poor Pete's patience some. I apologized after the ride, but Pete was a good sport, and looked after me when I needed looking after. After the ride, and dinner, and visiting, I called my doctor's office and was told I needed to get checked out, so I went to Huntington's ER; the ER doctor agreed I did not need a CT scan, but had x-rays taken of my right shoulder, which were negative, as expected. Neither of us were interested in x-rays of my ribs... I was home by about 3AM, and in bed around 4AM, about 24 hours after getting up for the ride (which we started EARLY, a few minutes before the agreed upon 6AM!).

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
