After numerous senior-moment false starts, I drove to Gibbstown and saddled up the '74 Raleigh on a beautiful morning. Didn't do much distance, but happened to see some good bike buddies and got caught up in conversations.
Along Oak Grove Rd in front of Garcia's Gate, I came upon Sam, Gene and Chris riding the other way. We chatted for at least 15 minutes. Sam has some serious eye surgery coming up at month-end, I was sorry to learn. I finally got to check out his new E-bike, an Orbea. He handed me a folded paper he was carrying that he had brought along to show Gene; it was a copy of my Letter-of-the-Month in the new Road Bike Action mag, which I hadn't yet seen! Very cool.
Coming back into Gibbstown, I flip-phoned Sheldon and found he was OK with my stopping by for a visit. Once again he spotted me to a Clif bar and some ice water. We chewed the fat a bit. He is looking and feeling good, regularly getting some bike miles in.
