Bob, Doug, Sonny and I originally planned on doing a more climby ride but Sonny ran 20 miles the day before so we went with the "default" ride.
I thought about going for PRs on the climbs to make up for the easier ride but decided to actually take it easy and rest my legs. That went out the door when Doug passed me going up OLH. I could hear Bob huffing behind me while I was feeling fine so I decided to go with Doug. We dropped Bob pretty soon after and then, at the same corner where it gets steeper, Doug started to drop me. I kept fighting to keep him in sight. He would pull away on the straights but then I would catch up again every time I came around a corner. He was about 15-20s ahead of me the whole way.
Once we got to the final few turns before the top, I was still more than 10s behind him but I went for it and started sprinting. I flew passed him a third of the way up the final pitch and kept on going. Fortunately I got a PR for the effort.
The rest of the ride was uneventful until the descent of Kings where I passed two cars and then later on Sandhill where I did a bunch of sprints.
The bike wasn't feeling right at the beginning of the ride but I guess I got used to it by the end. Not sure what was going on but a strong finish to the ride.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
