10/03/20 Art Loeb Grassy Cove Top Chip

Parked on Black Balsam Road before getting to the parking lot. We should have turned around to be facing out when we returned that afternoon. The road and lot were slam full of cars so it took an extra half hour to head out. Amazing how popular this place is. We saw dozens of people hiking the trails, gathering on mountain crests and pitching campsites.
The hike was great but I found it to be very strenuous for me. I was extremely careful and slow, especially going down. Many smooth open rock faces and many high steps going up and again coming down. We had planned to go all the way to shining (quartz) rock but stopped at Grassy Cove instead.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
