Too wet to be in the woods after two days of rain, so let's go climb some pavement. Managed to get the ride and be done juuuuust as the sun went down. Coulda gone farther, would have liked to ride more, but when you don't start til 3:30pm, this is whatchoo get. Being Friday the 13th, plenty of driver shenanigans ... pulling out in front of speeding bikes, ignoring bikes at intersections all sorts of adventures. The weather was coooool -- 55 at the start said the yard thermometer and there was probably too many layers. Finished quite wet, but the start was cool enough to make it seem like a light windbreaker was the right call. Still an hour short (and 300+ miles) from last year's total, which ended in early October with The Incident (and today is a year since The Surgery from The Incident). Comparing hours ridden this year since so much more dirt (which is fewer miles for same amount of time). Not sure I'll match last year's miles... Didn't help there was very little riding in early spring this year, but still. Plus no RAGBRAI...
