So high today predicted 42. Wind from the NW. Woods wet from the last rain. I know! Let's go ride pavement! Annnnnnd so we did. Little bit of an experiment to determine how many layers and so forth. Started out with head covering, long-fingered gloves and gaiter around neck.... 4 miles in, as soon as there was a bit of climbing, ditch all three. Kept the coat on (good choice) and was glad to have the tights, especially because the knees were cool-ish eventually. Shorts mighta been a little too ambitious. Other than the north wind, which caused a fair bit of extra work, it was all good. The clothing combination worked. Couldn't quite get to 40mph on the fast "buffalo" hill around Mile 24.7 ... probably started pedaling hard too late... it was a chilly wind, to be sure.
