Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

I ran myself ragged because of you, Dick. I hope you're happy now! 🥴
😇 Man, I didn't realize I had so much power! I'll have to figure out how to transform that to my bike. 🤓
Great ride by the way!! 💪👊
I used the default dashboard on this ride, as you can see in one of the pictures. It's easier to concentrate on your power when it's right in your face. I usually use the dashboard that's the strip at the bottom.
I used to use the default dashboard all the time but, it covers up too much of the countryside. On most rides n
On most rides, I'll hit 0 and just ride with only the video and every now and then during the ride hit 0 again to see what's coming up next.
Yeah, I agree. That's why I don't often use it. I only used it on this ride because I didn't want to be accused of being wimpy again!
Although the scenery on this ride is nice, it gets pretty monotonous after the first few miles.
😂
I ride with the dash turned off from time to time, and always turn it off when I take screenshots.
The problem I have when riding with it off, is that the view on the screen doesn't always jive with the elevation graph (and therefore the felt resistance). I've had many instances when it looks like you're going uphill and the graph shows you're going down, and vice versa.
Yea, the uphill/downhill thing can be kinda crazy sometimes. I have the same problem. I just "go with the flow". If it feels like I'm going uphill I pedal harder and visa versa. If I'm wanting to keep my power at a certain level during a ride, I will keep the numbers up at the bottom to he screen but, use the right/left arrows to make them as small as I can and still be able to read them.
