It was a great trip. I camped most nights. Every 3rd night or so was a hotel or cabin. I was prepared to guerrilla camp hidden on the roadside, but never had to do that on this trip.

I did a bit of advance planning. This website was really helpful with planning: http://bikelakemichigan.com/ The author of the website was helpful via email also. I planned for the urban areas more thoroughly and kept myself stocked with food and water in all areas but specifically before the really rural areas. The Allstays Camp & RV app on my phone was indispensable during the trip to guide me to food, water, and camping throughout the trip based on my gps location. This was really important in the rural areas so as you passed a campground, you could check how far (distance, time, and light outside) to get to the next campsite. In the really rural areas, mainly the upper peninsula of MI, campgrounds can be 15-20 miles apart.
