Begin from Silverton City Park. Ride Cascade Highway to junction of Highway 214 (10.5 miles). Go left on 214 for 3 miles of long rollers then a 4.5 mile climb to the Silver Falls Park entrance (700 feet climbing). Continue through the park with several more long rollers. Crosswind/headwind after leaving the park. A few more short climbs to Drake Crossing fire station (mile 27). Finally, the remaining 8 miles back into Silverton is nearly all downhill. Opted to ride through town, past the high school, to the Gallon House covered bridge. Returned to city park via Hobart Rd, James St and Water Ave. Several hills of 6-10% grade. The 4.5 mile Silver Falls park climb is a constant 6-8%. The first short hill heading out of Silverton is 11%.
