That is so sad. It will take some time but forest will regenerate. I couldn't believe that will come so close to your area.

Yeah, we've had some big fires in our area. The walker Fire in 2019 burned over 54k acres. It was only 11 miles from Taylorsville.

Last year, what started as a couple different fires near Quincy, merged together to become the North Complex fire. Combined, it burned 319k acres. The burn pictures on this ride were from that fire.

The one that's burning now, called the Dixie Fire, is currently over 85k acres and only 15% contained. Although it's still about 15 miles from us, it's been threatening homes in other communities in our area.
Pretty scary stuff.
