Kept going back and forth debating going out today. Now that I'm home I'm glad I did. Had a small but very solid group today. Started nice and chill until we picked up Mike at Green Valley Grocery at Volunteer and LVB. From there we lined up and and just crushed it all the way to Jean. Quick stop on the east side for water before the climb to Good Springs. We lined up again for the long steady climb up to Good Springs. I had it in my head that the climb would be worse than it actually turned out to be, but dang if that last half mile, right after the Sandy Valley turn off, didn't nearly do me in. Thankfully I wasn't the only one. After a quick rest to catch our breath, we spun around to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Got to just cruise all the way back the seven miles of climbing we'd just finished. Add to that the cooler, relatively speaking, temperatures it was a blast. Finally, after a final water stop we lined back up to head back. As with the ride down, everyone did a great job rotating through and we made decent time. Not as fast as last time we went to Jean, but we had a healthy tailwind that time. Having the entire group on point and working together is awesome. Pulled up at Volunteer and LVB to chat some before Mike and I peeled off to head home. Nice spin up Volunteer to Via Inspirada before Mike turned off to head home leaving me solo to climb Hampton and Atchley/Somersworth to get home. Now to just chill out and relax for the rest of the day.
