Emonda. Mostly sunny, cooler, 3-6 mph NNE wind. A real climb fest for an Illinois flatlander. Hard climb up Lee Hill Rd to Left Hand Canyon Rd then up James Canyon Rd past Jamestown to the end of pavement (17.1 miles from the house). Right around 4,200 feet climbing in the first leg and max elevation of 8,418 feet. Descent back to Jamestown was pretty hairy with steep grades and lots of sharp curves - not so great on rim brakes and carbon wheels. The descent below was much better with lower grades and mostly broader curves. Got behind a local speed demon for the last 5 miles and was able to keep up with him no problem. Finished off with a beautiful fast valley ride on Neva/Niwot Roads. TSS: 172, IF: 71, Avg: 193W, Max: 784W, Norm: 199W. Climb up = 17.1 miles @ 7.8 mph avg., 4,416 feet climbing, max speed 40.6 mph. Return = 26 miles @ 20.5 mph, 934 feet climbing, max speed 49.8 mph.
